MAN BEHEADED IN DELTA STATE OVER LAND DISPUTE(PHOTOS)



   A man said to be about 40 years was beheaded in Delta state, in an escalation of the boundary dispute between Aladja community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta and Ogbe-Ijoh community in Warri South-West Local Government Area.
 
 
   The deceased, identified as Mr Samson Bebebo, a fish farmer and an indegene of Ogbe-Ijoh was beheaded on Saturday morning while returning from his fish farm.
Bebebo, who is survived by two children was found lying without his head in his farm behind a secretariat located at the disputed land between both communities.
Aladja community inhabited by the Urhobos and Ogbe-Ijoh inhabited by the Ijaw have been fighting each other over boundary demarcation.
      There have been series of allegation and counter-allegation of missing persons, maiming, kidnapping and other vices in the volatile communities since the crisis started
An Ogbe-Ijoh, Chief, Monday Keme, narrated how the lifeless body of the deceased was found.
”We were at the burial at Ogbe Ijoh this morning when we got information that Samson, who normally goes to work on his fish farm had not returned home.
”So we sent a search party after him at about two hours after 10:30a.m and somebody said he heard gunshots. The search party found his body lifeless and head removed,” he said.
Delta government had constituted a committee with a view to resolving the aged-long land dispute.
The Warri Area Commander was said to have visited Ogbe-Ijoh on a fact-finding mission before the lifeless body of the deceased was taken to Warri Central Hospital mortuary.
However, the Delta Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Andrew Aniamaka confirmed the incident. He added that investigation was ongoing to unravel the perpetrators.
